Book your Flu and Covid Vaccinations with your local GP Surgery
We know it's difficult to think about the coming winter when we have such beautiful weather at the moment but at the practice we are planning ahead! This winter we are hoping to administer Flu and Covid vaccines at the same appointment (depending on the availability of supplies) and are urging our patients to book now. By having your vaccinations at the surgery you are supporting us. We are funded dependent on the amount of vaccines we administer and that funding in turn is invested in staffing in order to provide a good service to you. Please don't think that by having your vaccines at a Pharmacy or Supermarket that you are saving us time or the bother of doing it. We plan our staffing to accommodate doing the clinics.
If we have your mobile number you will shortly receive a text to offer you the opportunity to book for BOTH vaccinations through a link but if you find this does not work or if we don't have your mobile number please contact the surgery in the usual way to book. If you only wish to have one vaccination, either the flu or the Covid vaccination then you must contact us directly as these will be done at appointments later in the year.
Appointments will be available for patients in the age group from 50 (including those who'll be 50 by the 31st March 2023) to 64 to book for both vaccinations on Tuesday evenings. If you are over 65 (including those who'll be 65 by the 31st March 2023) please book for both vaccinations in a Saturday clinic. If you are under 50 and have an underlying health condition which makes you eligible for the flu vaccination you will receive a text to book into a clinic on a Tuesday.
If you experience any problems with this please contact the surgery in the usual way.

Important message regarding telephone calls from our surgery
Please be aware that when our staff call patients they are not able to say where they are calling from until they know they have the patient on the telephone due to patient confidentiality.
If you are happy for our team to advise other members of your household who is calling then please make us aware next time you call.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
The 'My Planned Care' website contains helpful information and guidance for patients waiting for a hospital consultation, treatment or surgery. This included information about waiting times at your hospital and other supporting and local services while you wait. This site is updated weekly and can be viewed by anyone.
We want to let you know about the new and exciting developments that we have been implementing at the practice.
Over the last few months, we have been re-shaping our dispensary and upgrading our dispensing systems. We are aware that this has caused some delays and we have had some teething problems with the new system. We are confident that we are now in a position to provide a better than ever dispensing service to those patients that we are allowed to dispense medication to. Regrettably we are still not allowed to dispense to those patients who live within one mile of a Pharmacy.
Some of you may have already been sent a text to collect your order from our new medicines collection locker. If we have your mobile number, you will be sent a text to collect your order when it's ready. The locker allows you to pick up your medicines 24 hours a day and prevents you from having to queue at the dispensary door. If this is a service that you want to access, and we don't have your number please let us know when you place your order.
There are several ways to order your repeat prescriptions:
- Call 01723 864553 and leave your order on our answer machine by pressing option 1
- Call the above number and speak to one of the dispensing team, this may necessitate a wait at busy times
- Order online at www.ayton-snainton.co.uk
- Download and order through the NHS App
- If you have a query about your medication, please call 01723 864553 and press option 2, again this may necessitate a wait at busy times
We apologise to those patients who have had a longer wait than usual over the last few weeks.
***Important information regarding visiting the surgeries***
Please note that we don't yet know whether the rules for the NHS will change.
So, until this is confirmed, please continue to:
-wear your mask in the surgery
-keep distance from others when in the surgery
-arrive no longer than five minutes before your appointment time
-avoid attending for routine care when you have Covid
-tell us if you have Covid symptoms or are Covid positive when you have an appointment
That way we can keep all patients safe - including those who cannot be vaccinated or whose immune systems are compromised/weak.
Please note that if you do not wish to receive text messages from us please let us know as soon as possible. We hope to invite eligible patients for their Flu and Covid vaccinations by text messages going forward.
